A 5.1 magnitude quake jolted close to South Sandwich Islands region on Thursday around midnight, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook at 02:07 UTC (00:07 local time), with its epicenter of South Sandwich Islands region and a depth of 35 km.
