Loving and Reeves counties placed under a dust storm warning Tuesday afternoon, quarter mile visibility

The National Weather Service issued a dust storm warning at 12:21 p.m. on Tuesday in effect until 2:15 p.m. for Loving and Reeves counties.

“At 12:19 p.m., an area of blowing dust restricting the visibility to less than one quarter of a mile was observed on County Road 300 north of Mentone,” according to the NWS. “US Highway 285, State Highway 302 as well as other local roads in Reeves and Loving counties could be affected.”

Locations impacted by the warning include Slash Ranch, Red Bluff Reservoir, Mentone, Red Bluff and Orla.

“Dangerous life-threatening travel,” says the NWS.
