On Tuesday at 9:34 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated high surf advisory valid from 4 p.m. until Thursday 4 a.m. The advisory is for Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches.

The NWS states to anticipate, “Large breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet with local sets to 10 feet with dangerous rip currents.”

“There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore,” describes the NWS. “Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks.”
