According to the National Hurricane Center’s 4 a.m. Sunday advisory, Tropical Storm Fernand is in the Atlantic Ocean, 300 miles southeast of Bermuda. The system, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, is moving to the north-northeast at 15 mph.

“… Fernand should move well east of Bermuda and across the open waters of the subtropical North Atlantic”, forecasters noted. “Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours.” They also said “A weakening trend is expected by Tuesday.”
