Update: Lake wind advisory issued for Greater Lake Tahoe area until Wednesday night

On Wednesday at 1:50 a.m. an updated lake wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. for Greater Lake Tahoe area.

The NWS says to prepare for, “Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and waves 1 to 3 feet.”

“Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve,” states the NWS. “Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.”
