A 5.2 magnitude quake hit close to Sarangani at midday on Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 04:44 UTC (12:44 local time), a tremor shook the area at a depth of 35 km, with its epicenter roughly 68 km south-southwest of Sarangani. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.3 but later downgraded to 5.2.
