SAN RAFAEL DEL YUMA, La Altagracia Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake shook near Boca de Yuma at midday on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The tremor struck the region at 16:06 UTC (12:06 local time). It occurred at a depth of 82 km with the epicenter approximately 51 km south of Boca de Yuma.

Last week’s tremor
On Jun. 20, one more magnitude 3.4 earthquake was registered in the region, also close to Boca de Yuma.
