A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Balangonan on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the area at 02:21 UTC (10:21 local time). The epicenter was about 14 km south-southwest of Balangonan, at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.2 but later downgraded to 5.0.
