According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake shook close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Wednesday night.

The tremor, which hit the area at 10:13 UTC (21:13 local time), was centered approximately 141 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 35 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.2 event, but later downgraded it to 5.1.
