July 20: Earthquake of 6.1 magnitude reported close to Sand Point, AK

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—A 6.1 magnitude quake was registered near Sand Point on Sunday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor rocked the area at 10:27 p.m. (11:27 a.m. local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 74 miles south-southeast of Sand Point and occurred at a depth of 34 miles.
