July 18: Earthquake measuring 5.2 strikes region near Lae, Papua New Guinea

On Friday around midnight, a 5.2 magnitude quake was registered near Lae, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor jolted the area at 14:33 UTC (00:33 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated about 135 km north of Lae and occurred at a depth of 181 km.
