It was do or die for the Johnstown Tomahawks against the Rochester Jr. Americans.
They pulled through with a 4-3 win in a game that went to overtime, on Friday, April 24, 2025. Johnstown is now back in the series, which Rochester leads by 2-1 games.
Johnstown’s Sam Blanton scored the game-winning goal.
The Tomahawks started off strong and took the lead early in the game with Tate Pecknold scoring in the first period, assisted by Markas Samenas.
The Jr. Americans’ Ryan Shaw tied it up late in the first period, assisted by Demitri Diflorio and Clay O’donnell.
The Tomahawks’ Adam Ondris took the lead late in the first, assisted by Dylan Shane and Adam Csabi.
The Jr. Americans tied the game 2-2 with a minute left in the first when Dexter Kichline scored.
The second period ended with a 3-2 lead for the Tomahawks.
JC Humphreys tied the game 3-3 with a goal late in the third period, assisted by Jacob Reese and Liam Chapman. The game went to overtime.
In overtime, it took 22:53 before Sam Blanton scored the game-winner for the team, assisted by Lukas Klemm and Tate Pecknold.
