Saturday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was reported near Kokopo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor rattled the area at 22:25 UTC (08:25 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated approximately 214 km south of Kokopo and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
