Update: Earthquake of 5.4 magnitude registered near Bantogon, Philippines on Jan. 28

A 5.4 magnitude quake was recorded close to Bantogon Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor jolted the area at 08:34 UTC (16:34 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated approximately 32 km west of Bantogon and occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.7 but later downgraded to 5.4.
