Fire weather watch issued for Southwest Colorado and Paradox Valley for Saturday – high fire danger

A fire weather watch was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 3:33 a.m. valid for Saturday between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. for Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Paradox Valley.

Winds are forecasted to be southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity 9 to 14 percent.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” explains the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
