Fire weather watch affecting Little Snake Saturday – enhanced fire threat

On Friday at 3:33 a.m. the National Weather Service released a fire weather watch valid for Saturday between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. for Little Snake.

The NWS states that the warning was issued for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. Winds are forecasted to be southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity 7 to 12 percent.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” adds the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
