At 3:43 a.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service issued an updated fire weather watch valid for Saturday between noon and 8 p.m. for Central Colorado.

Residents can expect winds to be southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity as low as 9 percent.

“Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire,” describes the NWS.

The full list of affected locations includes:

• Central and Southeast Park County

• Jefferson and West Douglas counties above 6,000 feet/Gilpin/Clear Creek/Northeast Park counties below 9,000 feet

• Larimer County below 6,000 feet/Northwest Weld County

• Boulder/Jefferson counties below 6,000 feet/West Broomfield County

• Elbert/central and east Douglas counties above 6,000 feet

• Northeast Weld County

• Central and South Weld County

• North and Northeast Elbert County below 6,000 feet/North Lincoln County

• Southeast Elbert County below 6,000 feet/South Lincoln County
