Update: Texas Panhandle placed under a fire weather watch Thursday – increased fire danger

The National Weather Service issued an updated fire weather watch at 3:06 a.m. on Wednesday valid for Thursday between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. The watch is for Dallam, Sherman, Hansford, Ochiltree, Lipscomb, Hartley, Moore, Hutchinson, Roberts, Oldham and Deaf Smith counties.

20-foot winds: Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

Relative humidity: As low as 7 percent.
