Update: Fire weather watch for Southwest Colorado for Tuesday – gusts up to 30 mph

At 10:17 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service released an updated fire weather watch valid for Tuesday between noon and 10 p.m. for Southwest Colorado Upper East Forecast Area.

Winds are forecasted to be west 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity 6 to 11%.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” explains the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
