At 5:56 a.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service released a red flag warning valid between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. The warning is for Schleicher, Sutton, McCulloch, San Saba, Menard, Kimble and Mason counties.
The NWS states that the warning was issued for wind and low relative humidity. Winds are forecasted to be south 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity as low as 15 to 22 percent.
“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” explains the NWS.
