Feb. 25: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude detected near Mawlaik, Burma (Myanmar)

KALE, Sagaing Region — A 5.1 magnitude quake was registered close to Mawlaik Wednesday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 16:51 UTC (23:21 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 130 km, with its epicenter about 83 km south-southeast of Mawlaik.
