Monday evening, a 5.8 magnitude quake was registered close to Santiago, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 11:35 UTC (19:35 local time). The epicenter was located about 87 km east-southeast of Santiago, at a depth of 10 km.
