According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.3 magnitude quake hit near Mid-Indian Ridge Tuesday evening.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 15:21 UTC (20:21 local time). The epicenter was located of Mid-Indian Ridge, at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later downgraded it to 5.3.
