According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake shook near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Monday night.

A tremor jolted the area at 11:32 UTC (22:32 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 164 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 10 km.

In the past week, the region has experienced 10 quakes of magnitude 2.5 or higher. The biggest, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake, struck the same region four days ago.
