FRESNO COUNTY, CA — at midday on Sunday, a preliminary 3.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Toms Place, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which rattled the region at 1:23 p.m., was centered roughly 11 miles west-southwest of Toms Place. It occurred at a depth of 5 miles.
