Update: Earthquake measuring 5.7 jolts area near Prince Edward Islands region on Jan. 4

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.7 magnitude quake shook close to Prince Edward Islands region Sunday afternoon.

The tremor, which hit the region at 13:07 UTC (16:07 local time), was centered of Prince Edward Islands region. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.8 event, but later downgraded it to 5.7.
