NAITASIRI, Central Division — A 5.6 magnitude quake was recorded near the Fiji Islands on Monday around midnight, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit at 12:08 UTC (00:08 local time), with its epicenter located south of the Fiji Islands and a depth of 570 km.
