Update: Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude registered close to the Fiji Islands on Feb. 22

NAITASIRI, Central Division — A 5.3 magnitude quake was recorded near the Fiji Islands Sunday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 07:54 UTC (19:54 local time). The epicenter was situated south of the Fiji Islands, at a depth of 642 km.
