Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake shakes close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 21

Monday morning, a 5.2 magnitude quake was registered near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 15:14 UTC (02:14 local time). It occurred at a depth of 18 km with the epicenter located approximately 152 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.3 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
