According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake shook close to Ozernovskiy on Monday around midday.

At 01:09 UTC (12:09 local time), the region was struck by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 55 km, with its epicenter about 113 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.2 but later downgraded to 5.1.
