Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 registered near San Alejandro, Peru on Aug. 3

PADRE ABAD PROVINCE, Ucayali — A 5.2 magnitude quake struck close to San Alejandro on Monday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor shook the area at 01:42 UTC (20:42 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was roughly 66 km west-northwest of San Alejandro and occurred at a depth of 125 km.
