Earthquake of magnitude 5.1 registered close to Puerto Madero, Mexico on July 25

A 5.1 magnitude quake hit close to Puerto Madero on Saturday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 05:26 UTC (23:26 local time). The epicenter was about 43 km southwest of Puerto Madero, at a depth of 35 km.

Quakes past week

45 tremors with a magnitude 2.5 or above were detected in the area last week, two of them larger than magnitude 5.5. The largest one was a 5.7 earthquake that was recorded in the same region on Jul. 18.
