DAVAO OCCIDENTAL, Davao Region — A 5.0 magnitude quake shook near Nuing on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 17:44 UTC (01:44 local time). The epicenter was approximately 3 km west-northwest of Nuing, at a depth of 43 km.

Over the last week, there have been five tremors of magnitude 2.5 or greater centered nearby. The biggest, a 5.4 magnitude quake, was reported close to Sarangani on Jul. 11.
