Update: Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude recorded near Mid-Atlantic Ridge on March 14

A 5.3 magnitude quake shook close to Mid-Atlantic Ridge on Saturday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 17:43 UTC (14:43 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter north of Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later upgraded it to 5.3.
