Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake registered near Port Blair, India on July 29

Tuesday night, a 5.0 magnitude quake was detected near Port Blair, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 16:11 UTC (22:11 local time), the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter about 288 km south-southeast of Port Blair.
