Sunday afternoon, a 5.0 magnitude quake was detected near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled the area at 06:02 UTC (17:02 local time). It occurred at a depth of 33 km with the epicenter located roughly 132 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
