OSHIMA DISTRICT, Kagoshima — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Isen on Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook the area at 01:41 UTC (10:41 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter about 70 km east-southeast of Isen.
