Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake recorded close to Vilyuchinsk, Russia on July 29

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake struck close to Vilyuchinsk around midday Tuesday.

A tremor shook the area at 23:50 UTC (11:50 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located about 125 km south of Vilyuchinsk and occurred at a depth of 80 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.3 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
