DAVAO ORIENTAL, Davao Region — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Pondaguitan on Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 08:53 UTC (17:53 local time). The epicenter was approximately 227 km southeast of Pondaguitan, at a depth of 120 km.
