YAKUTAT CITY AND BOROUGH, AK — Tuesday morning, a 5.1 magnitude quake was reported close to Yakutat, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 10:17 a.m. (3:17 a.m. local time). The epicenter was situated about 60 miles north of Yakutat, at a depth of just 3 miles. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.0 event, but later upgraded it to 5.1.
