CAUCETE DEPARTMENT, San Juan Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake shook close to Villa General Roca on Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 06:54 UTC (03:54 local time). The epicenter was roughly 103 km north-northwest of Villa General Roca, at a depth of 131 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.1 but later downgraded to 5.0.
