Earthquake jolts area near Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia: 5.2 magnitude registered on Oct. 11

A 5.2 magnitude quake hit near Severo-Kuril’sk on Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook the region at 17:00 UTC (03:00 local time). It occurred at a depth of 83 km with the epicenter roughly 101 km south-southwest of Severo-Kuril’sk.
