A 5.0 magnitude quake was registered near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which rattled the region at 22:29 UTC (09:29 local time), was centered approximately 176 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
