The tremor hit at 16:36 UTC (03:36 local time), with its epicenter situated about 126 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy and a depth of 10 km.

Tremors last week
Over the last week, there have been four tremors of magnitude 5.5 or greater centered nearby, four of them larger than magnitude 5.5. The largest one was a 5.9 earthquake that hit near Severo-Kuril’sk two days earlier.
