ANDARAB, Baghlan — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.8 magnitude quake occurred close to Bāzārak on Friday afternoon.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 13:09 UTC (17:39 local time), was centered approximately 37 km northeast of Bāzārak. It occurred at a depth of 82 km.
