Earthquake hits area close to Vilyuchinsk, Russia: 5.0 magnitude detected on Oct. 2

A 5.0 magnitude quake shook near Vilyuchinsk on Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which jolted the region at 18:25 UTC (05:25 local time), was centered approximately 179 km south-southeast of Vilyuchinsk. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
