A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Coquimbo on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the region at 00:36 UTC (19:36 local time), was centered roughly 95 km north-northwest of Coquimbo. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
