Update: Dec. 27 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake recorded close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia

A 5.1 magnitude quake was registered near Severo-Kuril’sk at midday on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted the area at 02:25 UTC (13:25 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated about 220 km east-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk.
