Chance Fire initially started 12:37 a.m. July 8 in Trinity County, California.

After being active for 33 hours, it has burned 3.3 acres of federal land managed by the United States Forest Service, an increase of two acres since the last update. It is believed that the fire was naturally caused. There is currently no information on the containment of the fire.
