Bonita Fire initially started 11:17 a.m. April 20 at in Tulare County, California.

Since its discovery more than a month ago, it has burned 6.8 acres of federal land managed by the United States Forest Service. The fire is thought to have originated from natural causes. There is currently no information on the containment of the fire.

NIFC Fire Complexity Analysis

This wildfire is considered to be a Type 1 incident, which is the most complex. What it means:

• A Type 2 team can be ordered in a short or long configuration. The national standard configuration is the same for all teams. GACCs may adjust the makeup of teams for use in their areas.

• The incident extends into multiple operational periods.
